Lenny’s Sub Shop Expands to Diamondhead for the First Time
March 02, 2010

New Restaurant Brings Authentic Philly Cheesesteaks and The Deli Fresh Experience™ to Diamondhead

Memphis, TN (March 2, 2010) --- When burgers, chicken nuggets, and pizza are the status quo fast food option, Lenny’s Sub Shop, a 150-plus-unit quick-casual sandwich restaurant, now opening at 4402 E Aloha Dr., Suite 15, is bringing variety with a fresh twist of flavor to Diamondhead for the very first time.

Lenny’s Sub Shop, one of the fastest-growing sub sandwich chains in the country with 19 locations in Mississippi, is not a typical assembly line sub restaurant. All meats and cheeses are sliced fresh to order and the portions could give you a workout with the 15-inch large sub weighing in at about one pound of ingredients and the regular size 7.5-inch option weighing in at about half a pound. The new location serves hot and cold sandwiches, including their famous Philly Cheesesteak, which is served hot off the grill, as well as a variety of salads. Catering and delivery will also allow Diamondhead residents to have Lenny’s when they want it, where they want it.

The new franchisees, husband and wife team, Paul and Lea Montjoy, knew that Lenny’s would be the perfect fit for Diamondhead. The Montjoy’s found themselves in a less than ideal situation when their house and neighborhood were destroyed by the nation’s worst hurricane in recent history, Hurricane Katrina, which devastated much of the Gulf Coast. Many of their family members already lived in the area and were involved in the community, thus making it any easy decision for the Montjoy’s to move. Taking into account the devastating damage, the Montjoy’s believed that if they were going to move to a new community, they wanted to be an ample part of it too, helping to revive some of what was lost. Because of Lea Montjoy’s previous experience with Lenny’s Sub Shop, together they decided that Lenny’s would give Diamondhead the variety, freshness and quality that they believed the community deserves and needs.

“We want to do our part in rebuilding the community after Hurricane Katrina,” said Lea Montjoy. “Many people were displaced and many businesses were washed out. Lenny’s Sub Shop will give Diamondhead residents a place they can go with their families to gather together, eat great food and experience excellent customer service.”

The Montjoy’s have aggressive expansion plans with Lenny’s as well. They will expand the brand to the Pearl River area in the next two years.

“We want every community that we touch to enjoy Lenny’s so we have plans to quickly grow throughout the area,” said Paul Montjoy.

This new Lenny’s Sub Shop location is open seven days a week, opening at 10:30 AM and closes at 9:00 PM and Sunday hours are from 11 AM to 6 PM. Delivery and catering are also offered at this location.

“We are very excited for Paul and Lea Montjoy to join the team at Lenny’s,” said George Alvord, Chief Executive Officer of Lenny’s Franchisor, LLC. “With our newest location in Mississippi, we are looking forward to providing quality food with exceptional service.”
