Midtown Crossing to Welcome Two New Restaurants
July 02, 2012Midtown Crossing to Welcome Two New Restaurants
Omaha, Neb. – Midtown Crossing is set to expand its menu of exciting and affordable dining options with the addition of two new restaurants.
Black Oak Grill, an American tavern concept specializing in comfort cuisine, is expected to open early next year at 3157 Farnam St.
“Midtown Crossing is an iconic development, one in which Omaha takes great pride. We feel fortunate to have been invited to join the mix of tenants serving the Omaha community,” said Bill Watson, vice president of marketing, Consolidated Restaurant Operations, Inc. (CRO).
Black Oak Grill will serve familiar American dishes -- with a chef-inspired twist -- utilizing only the freshest ingredients, including locally-sourced products. Specialties include chicken fried flat iron steak topped with chop house mushroom gravy, iron skillet trout, and the Ozark bacon burger.
"We believe Omaha will appreciate our food and atmosphere," said Watson.
Black Oak Grill is one of 115 restaurants throughout the U.S., United Kingdom, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates operated or franchised by Dallas-based CRO. It also operates Midtown Crossing favorite Cantina Laredo.
In addition to Black Oak Grill, Midtown Crossing is excited to welcome Lenny's Sub Shop to the development – and to Omaha. A Memphis-based franchise, Lenny's is known for serving up authentic, cooked-to-order Philly Cheesesteaks and sliced-to-order cold subs.
"I appreciate the fact that Midtown Crossing wanted a unique sandwich concept restaurant, were eager to understand the Lenny’s Sub Shop concept and felt we were exactly what they have been waiting for to join in the Midtown Crossing experience," said Stephanie Klaus who owns the Omaha restaurant with her husband Wesley.
A life-long resident of Midtown Omaha and a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Stephanie said she is excited to introduce Omaha to the Lenny’s commitment to More Food, More Taste, More Personality™.
"The people of Omaha can expect substantial portions, delicious food, and superb service," she said.
The Midtown Crossing location (the first of what the Klauses hope will be several in Omaha) could open as early as September.
"We feel like Midtown Crossing is one of the neatest areas Omaha has to offer,” said Stephanie. “Not only that, but it is surrounded by large businesses and residential which creates a wide variety for potential guests for our restaurant. Catering is going to be a main focus for us and we believe our proximity to some of the largest companies will help our catering efforts thrive. These are all reasons I was passionate and excited to put my first location in my own ‘backyard!’”
Midtown Crossing is Greater Omaha's unprecedented urban development – community-focused and world-renowned.
