For Valentine's, Memphis-based Lenny's offers free subs to Facebook fans

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Memphis-based Lenny’s Sub Shop is showing some love.
The franchise is offering fans of its Facebook age a free half-pound sub, no strings attached. The company hopes to boost its fan base from about 10,500 to more than 100,000 in just under a week.
Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, folks who “Like” Lenny’s will receive a coupon for a free sub sandwich, redeemable at any participating restaurant though March 15. There are 30 Lenny’s franchises in the Memphis area, part of the company’s 150-store footprint in 19 states.
“It’s a love theme, because customers are always telling us how much they love Lenny’s and so we’re showing a little love back to them for Valentine’s Day,” said company president Brent Alvord. “We want to show our current customers that we appreciate them and we hope to get some new folks in our doors through this offer. It’s a social media word-of-mouth campaign.”
The campaign is good for one coupon per customer and is not redeemable for cash. The coupons will be available through Feb. 20.
