Daily News Journal - Dining Out: Lenny's Sub Shop a Fresh AlternativeJanuary 31, 2008
While planning for the big game, food is probably at the top of the list. For a fresh alternative for your Super Bowl party, try Lenny's sub sandwiches. For about the same price of a plate of wings, you can get you favorite breads, meats and toppings made into fresh subs.
On the menu: Lenny's has all of the classic combinations, including the Italian sub ‹ with provolone cheese, ham, prosciutto, capriola, and Genoa salami and choice of veggies and condiments ‹ and the Deluxe Club sub, served with provolone cheese, ham, turkey, roast beef, bacon and mayonnaise, and desired veggies.
But if you want something hot to warm you up on those cold winter days, try a Meatball or Philly Cheesesteak sandwich.
All of the subs can be made on white or wheat bread, made fresh everyday.
Make your meal a combo and get a soft drink or lemonade and choice of cookie or potato chips.
What's the cost: For a regular six-inch sub sandwich, all are less than $6.
Make it a foot-long, and the price goes between $9.75 and $9.95.
Specialty deli sandwiches cost about $5 to $5.50, and the price includes the sandwich and either a cookie or bag of chips.
Kid-friendly: Eat-in or carry-out to enjoy at home. Either way, kids' meals are $3.95 and children may select from turkey and cheese, ham and cheese, and meatball subs, or a hot dog. These come with a drink, sandwich and chips.
What to know: Lenny's will cater your event, and they do deliver. A Deluxe Platter meal may be perfect for your Super Bowl party, as it will feed about 10 people, and comes with choice of up to three sub combinations, 10 bags of chips, 10 cookies, and a gallon of iced tea or lemonade. This platter is $39.95, or about $4 a person. A tray of 24 fresh baked cookies is $20.40. To have a platter ready, call or place an order at least 24-hours before pick up.
