President and Chief Operations Officer
Jason Vaughn joined Lennys Subs in 2014 as our President and Chief Operations Officer. He brings over twenty five years of experience in the restaurant industry and most recently held a Division Vice President position for Wendy’s International, LLC in Dublin, Ohio where he led a billion dollar portfolio in annual sales and P&L accountability with an employee base of 21,000. During his tenure at Wendy’s, Jason served on the board for the Political Action Committee to address business and franchisee concerns.
Prior to Wendy’s, Jason spent nineteen years at Yum! Brands, Inc.; the last six years as a Senior Director of Operations. At Yum! Brands, he held accountability for 1,100 company and franchise restaurants, oversaw all aspects of the business, and worked with direct report and support staff on people development, financials, human resources, training, and real estate. Jason led regional initiatives by designing and executing market tactical plans to support national strategy and region goals, and by influencing operations and support teams to execute plans.
Carl Jacobson joined Lennys Subs in 2004 and is our General Counsel. Carl handles all franchise legal and compliance issues and leads all corporate strategic and tactical legal initiatives. He provides legal counsel and direction to all levels of management and is involved in negotiating and finalizing various contracts and business transactions.
Carl graduated from the Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1983, spent four years as a prosecutor in the United States Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, and spent the next twelve years in the private practice of law in Memphis, Tennessee, where he devoted most of his time representing businesses in commercial and employment litigation. From 1999 until 2004, Carl went in house with one of his clients, Dobbs/Gate Gourmet, as General Counsel and Vice President of Human Resources for the world's second largest airline caterer.
John F. Cameron
Vice President of Operations
John F. Cameron joined Lennys Subs in 2010 and is our Vice President of Operations. John oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization and leads the team of Franchise Business Coaches.
John has approximately thirty years of restaurant experience and has worked for YUM! Brands, Dunkin Brands, and McDonalds. John held a multitude of positions with these companies, including Restaurant Manager, Regional Training Director, Area Manager, Franchise Business Leader, Franchise Director and National Director of Multi Brand Restaurants. Most recently before joining Lenny’s, John was an Operating Partner for Kentucky Fried Chicken. During his many years at KFC, he held the Director of Operations position where he operated twenty-seven restaurants in Memphis, Tennessee, six restaurants in Arkansas, three restaurants in Kentucky, two restaurants in Illinois, and two restaurants in Missouri. He also managed over 200 restaurants as a Franchise Business Leader and over 250 restaurants as the National Director of Multi Brands.
John Strand, CFE
Vice President of Business Standards
John Strand joined Lennys Subs in 2014 and is our Vice President of Business Standards. He is responsible for system-wide educational programs, training and resources. He also takes on challenges in implementing and maintaining operational benchmarks, measurements and systems designed to enhance restaurant and brand performance. John is responsible for the education and development of franchisees and their operating teams. He serves as the Dean of Lenny's University and continually develops, expands and implements new training processes, online programs, materials and technologies to enhance unit level economics and employee satisfaction.
Prior to joining Lenny’s, John had twelve years of writing, directing and production experience in film and television in the retail food industry. He also served on the corporate staff of Fleming Companies, Inc., a supermarket wholesale distribution company and supermarket franchisor. While at Fleming, John worked to produce education and development programs for use in the supermarket industry. He was also an owner of three franchised restaurants in Memphis, Tennessee. John is an IFA Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) and he has a BA degree from the University of Memphis.
Vice President of Franchise and Market Development
Bob Ritter joined Lennys Subs in 2015 and is our Vice President of Franchise and Market Development. Bob is responsible for the growth and development process of the brand, which includes franchise sales and new market growth, existing franchise sales, and the site selection process.
Bob has twenty years of franchising experience. He began his career as a founding member of Ritter's Frozen Custard in Indianapolis, Indiana where he served in many different capacities including operations, franchise development, construction, site selection, and procurement. Bob ultimately served as Ritter’s President and CEO, taking Ritter’s through the sale of the business. Just prior to joining Lenny’s, Bob served in an operational role with BrightStar Care, a leading in-home health care franchise. Bob has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology Degree from Indiana University Bloomington.
Senior Director, Information Technology
Anita Howald joined Lennys Subs in 2005 and is our Senior Director of Information Technology. Anita’s primary responsibility is to develop and maintain a fully integrated Point of Sale system for all franchisees. Additionally, Anita plans, organizes and executes all of Lennys IT functions.
Anita has over twenty years of experience developing database systems for companies in a variety of industries. Prior to joining Lennys, Anita served as the Project Team Manager/Systems Analyst at Gate Gourmet. Anita has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems/Computer Science from The University of West Florida and a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from University of Memphis.
Sheila Murphy joined Lennys Subs in 2011 and is our Controller. Sheila’s primary responsibility at Lenny's is to manage all financial reporting, workflow within the accounting team, and manage/develop system processes.
Sheila has nearly twenty years of experience directing accounting staff and managing financial information as well as financial system operations. Prior to joining Lennys, she served as the Assistant Controller at EnSafe Inc. Sheila has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from The University of Memphis and is currently completing her Master of Business Administration Degree in Accounting.
Marketing and PR Manager
Jenna Duett joined Lenny's Franchise Systems, LLC as Marketing and PR Manager in July 2011. Bringing more than eight years of marketing, sales, and training experience, Jenna's primary responsibility is managing national marketing promotions and other corporate initiatives from initial concept through completion.
Prior to Lenny's, Jenna sold print and online advertising, websites, and videos as Associate Sales Manager and Certified Google AdWords Reseller for yellowbook. After she was hired in 2006 as a Media Consultant, Jenna led Yellowbook's three week training course as Initial Sales Training Manager for the South/Central Region from 2007 - 2010.
Before yellowbook, Jenna placed internet and yellow page advertising as Marketing Coordinator for The ServiceMaster Company in Memphis, TN. She was assigned to ServiceMaster Clean franchise owners as their Yellow Pages Marketing Group consultant. Jenna also completed Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training while working at The ServiceMaster Company.
Jenna earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Mississippi State University.
